Good morning!
I've returned from my latest OB appointment (38 weeks & 6 days). That's right, folks, I'll be 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow, which means jack squat. ;)
Today's stats...
Weight gain/loss: HA! I LOST a pound!!! Ha, ha!!! I'm down a pound, for a total of 23 lbs gained this pregnancy! How fun is that?!?! :) (Seriously, pregnancy has been the best weight management plan I have EVER been on... LOL.)
Blood Pressure: 110/72
Baby's heartbeat today: 130's - 150's (yah, it was all over the place today)
Fundal height / belly measurement: 41 centimeters
Still not much happening... baby hasn't dropped yet and not much has physically changed.
If I have this baby by or on the 23rd, I'll be surprised... but hey, it's all good. For those of you wondering... no, I'm not swelled, uncomfortable (to any great extent) or otherwise feeling ill-effects from this pregnancy... which probably means the baby will come in December...! (Ha!) It's that whole thing about expectation... if I don't expect an early or on time baby, then I will not be disappointed when baby is late. And if perchance the baby is early, then what a wonderful surprise!!! :)
Happy Thursday to you all!

2008 Pella Area Quilt Guild Raffle Quilt!
On Saturday, November 10, I spent the day with my fellow quilting buddy and friend, Nancy, working on the top for the raffle quilt for the Pella Area Quilt Guild. The raffle quilt is raffled off each year during the Tulip Time Quilt Show.
This year we requested 4” finished (4.5” unfinished) blocks that were a square inside a square, and where the colors should be in the same family for the inner square and outer logs. We wanted to see if it was possible to create a color wash effect of sorts… but we weren’t sure what we would get! :)
After requesting members to scour their stashes and make blocks, we ended up receiving ~300 blocks and were able to create a top that was 17 blocks wide by 20 blocks long. I wanted to post the end result of the top! Now it will be quilted and pictures will be taken so that the quilt can be advertised along with the newsletter.

We had a great time on Saturday. When I arrived at 9 AM, Nancy had the blocks laid out on the living room floor and after a little bit of rearranging, we were ready to go. Other than a break to run to the costume shop and then to eat lunch, we worked throughout the day until 5 PM. It sure was a lot of fun!
I also included a picture of Lani sitting on the quilt… Lani loved to ‘help’ us out on Saturday! She is such a sweet dog! I also thought it was neat to have a picture of a black and white dog on the colorful quilt. :)

Go, Packers!
Okay...
What Packer fan could resist to make a quick comment about the awesome SHUTOUT from yesterday's game?
Packers: 34
Vikings: BIG FAT ZERO!
LOL, Adam was worried that I would go into labor during that game; we were both having so much fun hooting and hollering and jumping around while watching the game yesterday.
Go, Packers! Who doesn't love a season like this when Favre is playing like a young un' again!? :) 8-1! Woohoo!

Want to make a guess?
So...
Last night, being my nerdy self, I sat down and put together in a spreadsheet all of the 'guesses' that I had received from showers, emails, or otherwise that people are making regarding the baby. These 'guesses' or predictions include gender, date, time, weight, and height.
Since I'm still very pregnant (38 weeks and 3 days today!) and due next Friday (the 23rd), I thought I'd throw out there that if YOU want to make a guess, shoot me an email and I'll add you to the list. It'll be neat to see who 'wins'. After the baby is born, I'll post the winner and then post other neat info that I've been 'calculating' in the spreadsheet.
Make guesses on: Gender, Date of Birth, Time of Birth, Weight of Baby, Height of Baby. Looking forward to hearing from you! :)

38 weeks... and yes, I'm still pregnant!
Some of you might be beginning to wonder if I've had this baby yet... nope! Not yet! Still cookin'! :)
Adam took my 38 week picture today (one of these days I will learn to throw a little makeup on before going in front of the camera... LOL).

And... I had a treat today... my very first pedicure! Holy addictive! That was WONDERFUL!
I hope you're all doing well... and have a great weekend! I'm sure mine will be full of more mindless cleaning and whatnot... but whatever keeps me content, eh? ;)

OB Appointment: November 6
Good morning!
I have returned from my latest OB appointment.
Today I am 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant... just 17 days left until the due date (even though baby could come before or after that).
Today my stats are:
Weight gain: +2 lbs (hmm... those cinnamon rolls I made on Sunday are DEFINITELY the culprint there... ;) ... total of 24 lbs gained)
Blood pressure: 110/70 -- that's right folks... AWESOME! Hee, hee!
Baby's Heartbeat: Right around 155 today
Fundal height/belly measurement: 40 weeks -- we have settled down now and the belly measurement is 'within range'.
My next appointment is NEXT THURSDAY... Dr. says he wants to check me out right before the weekend so he has an idea as to whether he can make plans or not. So... I will be 38 weeks and 6 days pregnant at that point... hard to believe we are so 'close'!
Otherwise... feeling good. Definitely the nesting has set in, at least to a certain extent. I can go a day or two without wanting to do anything, and then suddenly I NEED to clean a whole floor of my house. Also, this last weekend I had the inkling to make homemade cinnamon rolls... okay, by far the BEST rolls I have ever had in my life. They are wicked awesome! And... I have a minor cold, but I don't find that I'm using anymore Kleenex now than before... my nose has been 'dripping' ever since I became pregnant, so it's not much of a hindrance.
Here's to wishing my dad a fun retirement party this coming weekend (I'm sorry I cannot be there)! Also... dad, I hope you're having a great 'first week' at your new job! :)
Hugs to you all!

Another week closer...
Whoever would have thought 6 months ago that today I would be 37 weeks pregnant? Wow! I am shocked! The baby is finally considered 'full-term', seems snug as a rug in there, and it's hard to believe that we could be parents at any time now (and almost 100% sure within the next 5 weeks). Wonderful! I'm am becoming very excited!
Adam took my 37 week picture today. I don't have a good 'straight' on picture... I blinked and my eyes are weird. But here is the other picture that we take each week as well. When I look back at belly pictures, I can actually 'see' myself growing. Otherwise, I don't feel that big! :)

Go, Packers, Go!
I have to give a shout out to the Green Bay Packers for their win last night against the Denver Broncos. The Packers are now 6-1... woohoo!
Even though we don't have cable, we have the Internet, and through nfl.com, I was able to keep up with the game last night, while Adam enjoyed a few beers down at Woody's and watched the game on the big screen there.

Date Night!
I wanted to say THANK YOU to my darling husband Adam for a WONDERFUL night out this last Friday (Oct 26)! We celebrated our 5th anniversary (which was Oct 19) with a dinner at Tursi's Latin King in Des Moines, followed by a movie. We saw 'Dan in Real Life'... great romantic comedy!
We had a moment of realization during the movie when I said to Adam, "Do you realize this is probably the last movie we'll see before we have the baby?" He joked back that the next time we want to go see a movie, it'll cost us $80 (for tickets & baby-sitting). Guess we'll be buying/renting all movies we want to watch from now on... ;)
Thank you, Adam!

OB Visit Update: 36 weeks, 3 days
Hi, all!
Had my latest OB visit today. I think due to being extra-tired today, I forgot half of the information (or forgot to ask for) I usually find out. Oh, well!
My last appointment was 2 weeks ago.
Weight gain: +2 lbs (for a total of 22 lbs... still doing well there!)
Fundal height/belly size: No Idea.
Blood Pressure: No Idea, but must be okay. ;)
Baby's Heartbeat: 140's today
Also was checked for dilation/effacement... basically, nothing going on there. Which, means absolutely nothing, other than that most likely, this babe is going to cook a bit longer, which is perfectly fine with me!
I've been feeling well... no swelling issues to speak of... not feeling sick or anything (although I think I have a minor cold)... and other than being tired from being up randomly through the night, all is well!
My next appointment is next Monday! I'll report more then! :)
